When I joined US-ILC, I realized that I was a part of a bigger purpose, Now, as a Legal Support Specialist at US-ILC, I contribute to work that fundamentally transforms lives. Every task I handle, no matter how small, supports our firmโs broader mission to protect and advocate for our clients. These actions are relevant to our clients, due to their capacity to completely change their lives. Because immigration law carries such high stakes, I pay meticulous attention to every filing and calendar deadline, since not doing so can lead to unintended consequences.
Before joining US-ILC, I spent over two years assisting with humanitarian relief cases, primarily preparing declarations for T-visa and VAWA petitions. That experience deepened my technical knowledge of case requirements and immigration processes while increasing my commitment to client-centered work. I was required to communicate directly with clients and familiarize myself with their individual stories. Working closely with clients through vulnerable moments taught me to look beyond case numbers and honor the personal journeys behind every file.
In my current role within the Litigation Department, I manage litigation schedules, ensure critical court deadlines are met, and monitor communications from the Executive Office for Immigration Review. I also provide bilingual support to our clients in English and Spanish, assist with assembling court-ready immigration packets, and facilitate vital communication between detained clients, attorneys, and paralegals.
Outside the office, my love of compelling stories shapes how I spend my time. I enjoy watching films and reading books by Latin American authors, particularly works that explore magical realism and raw human experiences. Because I am driven by empathy and a desire to make an impact, I believe in improving my corner of the world through consistent, meaningful actions. For me, this includes advocating for animal welfare, protecting the environment, or simply brightening someone’s day with a compliment.
