Working at USILC has given me increased exposure to different types of cases that are more unique and complex than I’ve previously encountered. No two cases are ever the same, and I take satisfaction in approaching them as puzzles to be solved. The support that I have received at the firm, along with the staff and the qualifications of my coworkers, are factors that drive my respect for the firm. The team members are competent and highly knowledgeable professionals I can rely on whenever inquiries arise. Each of us brings our own expertise to USILC, which we can utilize in conjunction with our own to support and assist each other and aid our clients.

I oversee the Records Department and removal cases within the Legal Department. For removals, I manage the preparation and defense of clients who are in removal proceedings. My work involves attending proceedings, or having cases terminated if the client is eligible for a relief. I communicate with clients in English or Spanish to keep them informed. This helps to alleviate their worries. Within the Records Department, I review clients’ entire immigration and criminal history to assess their options and determine what may be applicable for them, and I develop legal strategies for their cases. I research the factors that we must take into consideration and assess how we can plan a course of action that will bring back the desired results for our clients. While I specialize in immigration law, my extensive experience in criminal law, family law, and general civil litigation has also given me a broader perspective that informs how I approach each case.

I am naturally a problem-solver and analytical thinker, which has stoked my zeal for legal and immigration work. On the home front, I apply my desire to fix broken things to home improvement projects, woodworking, car repair, and any project requiring handiwork. To challenge myself even further, I also enjoy building computers.
