US-ILC REPRESENTS IN ALL 50 STATES

Jennifer Vasquez

Paralegal

Being a team member at USILC has given me the satisfaction of working directly with clients and sharing in their success when they obtain residency status. Knowing that I am guiding clients through the process and helping to educate them about their cases is deeply rewarding and gives my work real meaning.

When I joined USILC, I was already familiar with the firm through its informative and transparent social media videos. USILC serves a diverse clientele, with cases that vary in complexity. As a paralegal in the Litigation department, I have the opportunity to tackle challenging motions and other complex casework. My background in overseeing cases in removal proceedings allows me to bring a wealth of experience to case preparation and review. I strive for transparency when communicating with clients in both English and Spanish. Earning their trust is critical to me, as my goal is to ensure that our clients feel they are in caring and capable hands.

I have worked in immigration law since 2016, and I understand the importance of my role as a paralegal. It is fulfilling to be part of a field that serves immigrants-many of whom believe they have no options to adjust their status. We can help alleviate their frustrations and offer hope for a better future. By listening to our clients and seeking to understand their unique situations and challenges, I have greatly increased my capacity for empathy, which extends to all areas of my life.

At home, I strive to be a good mother to my children, which is the part of my life I value most. My family enjoys jiu jitsu; my partner and our son participate in tournaments together, while I take pleasure in supporting their passion for the sport. I also appreciate humor, and the character Shrek brings out the playful, youthful side of me.
