At USILC, I have the privilege of working with a diverse community of clients, and each case expands my knowledge and experience. The Firm also invests in its employees’ growth through workshops and meetings, making our work even more meaningful and fulfilling. As a paralegal in the Legal Department’s Family section, I communicate with clients in English and Spanish, review their documents and forms, and build cases to support their applications and ensure they are sufficiently prepared. I strive to be a calming and supportive presence for our clients, especially when they feel overwhelmed by the political climate.

I have three years of combined experience in family immigration and litigation law. My litigation work includes bond hearings, removal defense, defensive asylums, prosecutorial and discretion motions, and motions to change counsel or withdraw. I also specialized in removal of conditions for families, waivers, military Parole in Place, and a range of other types of immigration applications and petitions. I was a correctional officer in a male prison for two years, which entailed enforcing the law and protecting inmates and officers in the facility. Having a strong character, as well as being sympathetic towards inmates and ensuring their safety and well-being gave me the ability to handle a variety of personality types in difficult situations and environments.

I can now apply my experience and the knowledge I acquired to my current role, which allows me to continue helping people and contribute to the firm. USILC was founded by an independent woman, and I am inspired by her and by the Firm’s commitment to its staff. My role also allows me to connect with clients from various nationalities and cultures and contribute to those affected by immigration laws.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my son and running, both of which give me a sense of freedom and joy.
