Being with a firm that prioritizes structure is meaningful to me. Because US-ILC has established multiple departments, with each responsible for overseeing specific functions, this allows us to focus on our designated roles without distraction. The firm places deep emphasis on placing the right people in each role. While my duties are challenging and demand strong attention to detail, they have pushed me to a higher level of dedication and effort.

My professional journey in the immigration field began more than 14 years ago. Initially, I accepted a position as a receptionist at an established immigration and criminal defense law firm in Seattle. This set the stage for my career growth, and I was soon promoted to legal assistant, then paralegal. Through that opportunity, I was exposed to a broad range of immigration cases. Over the next several years, I assumed a new paralegal role at an immigration firm where I assisted attorneys in all types of immigration matters and became adept at overseeing and coordinating cases loads.

Now, as a Case Coordinator at US-ILC, I oversee cases for the paralegals, legal assistants, and the attorney within the Litigation department. This is primarily a managerial and knowledge-based role, and as such, I provide guidance to the paralegals and assistants regarding various immigration processes. It also requires ongoing research and familiarity with case law. I also review case types and assign them to the appropriate paralegals. The baseline between my past positions and my current work has remained the same. My previous role as a senior paralegal also required training junior paralegals, which has taught me how to manage teams.

I value the work-life balance that the firm offers.ย At home, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially participating in outdoor activities like beach days, visiting a nearby lagoon, and watching sunsets. We strive to keep a balance between homework and relaxation, and we prioritize bonding at mealtimes.
